Points to Note

Of course, fiberglass filter elements are not a panacea. There are a few key considerations:

  • Water sensitivity: If the hydraulic system has a significant moisture problem (emulsified oil), the fiberglass filter layer may become clogged with water, causing a sharp increase in differential pressure and shortening its lifespan. Therefore, systems with high moisture content require additional water removal and filtration equipment.
