What is the difference between a filter element and a strainer? Many people do not know the answer.
Because both of the filter element and strainer have the common:
Filter element and strainers are devices that remove solids from fluids or remove gas from solids.
So what is the difference, just they looks like different?
At first, we need to know what is a filter element and what is a strainer.
Filter element:
Filter element usually remove small particles(less than 40 micron) from fluid, it is located in a pressure line,
a return line or any other location where necessary.
Strainer:
A Strainer usually remove large particles(40 microns or greater) from a hydraulic fluid. Usually it’s action
is not as good as a filter’s, because it offers less resistance to flow.
